Just for Fun: Percy Jackson

During mid-winter break a new movie came out: Percy Jackson and the Olympians: The Lightning Thief.
Many third graders in room 241 have been reading this exciting series. Readers, have you seen the movie yet? How did you think it compared to the book? Leave your opinion in the comments!

I saw the movie last night. It was really different from the book, but still pretty exciting!

One thing that I noticed was that Percy knows he is the son of Poseidon right from the very beginning in the movie. In the book, he doesn't know until Poseidon "claims" him at camp.

The movie also left out the plot that involved Kronos, the Titan King, trying to come back to power.

I hope the next movie sticks closer to the books!
